Currently in search of a Catering Intern to assist in the Catering operations of our Baja West Coast Kitchen and Old Carolina Barbecue locations! This position would work directly alongside our management personnel in assisting in the setup, coordination, booking, administration, and execution of our catering events.

  • Assist in scheduling and conducting customer consultations to discuss catering needs, complete event orders, and coordinate day-of events.
  • Respond to incoming catering inquiries through phone, email, community involvement and networking settings, etc.
  • Perform set-up, tear-down, and execution of events; serve food, provide support in event execution, provide excellent customer service.
  • Assist in the execution and preparation of product, bulk orders, deliveries, and invoicing.
  • Execute incoming payments, deposits, and invoicing; ensure the secure, safe handling, and transportation of funds.
  • Communicate with management regarding general operations, upcoming events, bulk orders, arising issues, community involvement, etc.
  • Assist in the scheduling, delegation, supervision, and/or coordination of catering staff for all scheduled events, reporting labor budgets and costs.
  • Assist in the ordering and returning of all rentals for formal catering events.
  • Attend community networking events to solicit new potential customers and catering opportunities.

Qualifications

            Must have excellent communication, organization, prioritization and multi-tasking skills. Ability to remain composed in stressful situations and to train, motivate and counsel others with a positive manner. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred. Previous job experience in the current environment is preferable.
